BroadcastPlan Pro
Planning software for Auracast™ broadcast audio: coverage with the room full of people, commissioning and handover.
About
Hearing Loop Designer is made by Equal Access Audio, a hearing loop and Auracast installation practice in the Chicago area.
A hearing loop is a designed magnetic field, and the building works against it. Steel in a floor or ceiling absorbs part of the signal, most of all the high frequencies that carry consonants. A simple perimeter loop sags in the middle of a wide room. Find that out after the carpet is down and the fix is slow and costly.
Hearing Loop Designer exists so those problems show up on screen, before the wire goes down. It is built for the way installers work: survey the site, lay out the loop, check it against the IEC 60118-4 targets, choose the driver and wire, and hand the crew drawings they can install from. Installed performance is then confirmed by commissioning.
Hearing Loop Designer is built by David Harmon, founder and principal consultant of Equal Access Audio. Over more than 15 years he has installed, commissioned and troubleshot hundreds of hearing loops, mostly as a specialist subcontractor.
The software reflects what that work teaches: plan for the metal, size the driver for the high frequencies, draw the loop the way it will be installed, and measure the result.
Equal Access Audio also does installation work. So that installers, consultants and manufacturers can trust the software, we make these promises plainly:
